Bloody Picture Of The Day!

Stratovarius guitarist Timo Tolki seems to be seriously loosing it. Here's a message from Timo: "I really need to share this with all of you. Two days ago I had a panic attack, I lied down and tried to relax. Then a voice in my head told me repeatedly: Kabbalah, Kabbalah, Kabbalah. I believe it was the voice of Jesus Christ. I felt warm waves through my body and I felt secure and happy. The voice told me to take a bloody picture of myself in honor of His memory. Then the voice told me to go to my library and one of the books fell into the floor before me. I didn't even remember I have that book. It was about the teachings of Kabbalah. I will use the future Stratovarius recordings to celebrate the beauty of this ancient teaching."

Bye Bye Beautiful...

1- U.K.-based music journalist Dave Ling has posted the following message on his web site:
"I conducted a fascinating and unexpectedly candid interview with keyboard player/leader Tuomas Holopainen in which he confirmed my suspicion that 'Bye Bye Beautiful', from the new album 'Dark Passion Play', was inspired by the band's estranged former singer Tarja Turunen — famously sacked via open letter back in 2005. Included in its chorus are the lines: "Did you ever listen to what we played? / Did we get this far just to feel your hate? / You chose the long road but we'll be waiting."

2- Former NIGHTWISH singer Tarja Turunen has finished filming a video for her new solo single, "I Walk Alone", in Berlin, Germany with director Jörn Heitmann, who previously worked with NIGHTWISH on the "Sleeping Sun" clip in 2005. The single will be released mid-October Universal Music, to be followed by a full-length CD, "My Winter Storm", on November 9.

Believe It or Not...

A friend of ours with a retail source has told us that the long awaited Guns N’ Roses album, Chinese Democracy, has gotten a firm release date of November 21st. Under normal circumstances we’d laugh at such an assertion — after all, this album has reportedly cost more than $13 million and has been “due out” since 1998. But whenever somebody has actually managed to get Axl to speak in the past few months, he’s said it’s coming out before the end of the year. Plus, there was that G n’ R tour announcement the other day that alluded to a release date some time in the next two months. Dare to dream, folks. Dare to dream.
